Spiral Cut Salmon Dogs

Recipe and Photography by Chef Eric Gephart

Grilling dogs and 4th of July go hand in hand. When approaching these delicious and nutritious salmon dogs, know they taste and grill up just like a standard hot dog. This spiral cut method has been a favorite of mine for years. It increases surface area; decreases cook time and allows your toppings to really get in there! Fire up your grill and eat as many as you like with the knowledge that each bite is supplying your body with vital nutrients!

Spiral Cut Salmon Dogs

  • 4 Kvaroy Arctic Salmon Dogs ( find them on Amazon here )

  • 4 hot dog buns, top cut

  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

  • Any other favorite hot dog toppings

  • 4 wooden skewers

  • Assorted fresh fruit

DIRECTIONS

Stabilize your grill at 400F.

Run a skewer through the center of the salmon dog. Lightly trace a thin spiral cut from end to end.

Place the dogs on the grill surface for 1 minute then flip and cook for another minute. Remove the cooked salmon dogs from the grill. Use the bun to squeeze the dog and pull the skewer out then top your dogs with your choice of toppings. I chose a classic ketchup as the dogs speak for themselves. Enjoy!
