Salmon Hot Dog Flowers

Recipe and Photography by Heather Staller of Happy Kids Kitchen

Inspired by Chinese hot dog buns, I switched out the milk bread for convenient crescent roll dough. However, you could also use a thin pizza dough or any homemade dough.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 package Kvaroy Arctic salmon dogs (4 hot dogs)

  • 1 tube crescent roll dough

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove the hot dogs from the package and pat them dry.

Unroll the dough onto a cutting board or work surface. Pinch the seams closed then use a rolling pin to make a smooth, flat sheet of dough.

Cut across into 4 equal pieces then roll each hot dog in a piece of dough. Fold the excess dough over and pinch and smooth the dough to evenly cover the hot dog.

Cut the dough covered hot dog into 7 equal pieces. Arrange the slices cut side up on a baking sheet, one in the center then 6 in a circle around it to form a flower shape.

Bake until the dough golden brown, 12 to 14 minutes. Allow to cool then serve with ketchup for dipping.
