Kvaroy Arctic’s New Earth-Friendly Packaging
For the month of Plastic Free July and World Nature Conservation Day, we are beyond excited to share with you how Kvaroy Arctic is continuing its commitment to taking care of the environment!
We’ve been haunted by the statistics that 65% of global waste is coming from packaging. Earth-friendly packaging is more important than ever and our goal was to find an alternative that’s good for our product and the planet.
During the past year, we’ve been working hard on finding a climate-conscious solution for transporting our sustainable salmon from the island of Kvaroy in Norway to the States.
The task was not an easy one. We needed a container made of eco-friendly materials that can be recycled and that can endure the low temperature of the ice that we need to use for our salmon transportation. We experimented with various options and after many trials, we finally found the perfect match.
So, without further ado: here’s our new cardboard packaging made from recyclable materials! It can hold cold temperatures and is totally waterproof, while still being safe for the environment. Plus, cardboard can be recycled up to 7 times; its long life cycle helps reduce our overall carbon footprint.
Our new packaging is one of the many ways that we continue our dedicated commitment to leaving a better environment for future generations.
