Here’s Why We Created A Salmon Dog & Burger

A hot dog and a burger can come in many forms! Layered with bacon, covered in cheese, doused with ketchup and mustard or piled high with chili - hold the mayo! Regardless of topping, these American staples can be found across the country. And while neither the hot dog nor the hamburger is native to the United States, these two food items are deeply rooted in American food culture, so it seemed only fitting to look at what the next generation of these iconic items could be.
We worked hand-in-hand with our valued partners at Eat Salmon based in Stranda, Norway to develop the flavors, packaging and logistics for bringing this unique offering to market. After much work, testing and tasting, we are proud to introduce Kvarøy Arctic Salmon Burgers and Dogs. These new frozen pantry staples, are made with our American Heart Association certified sustainable Kvarøy Arctic Atlantic salmon. The natural buttery texture of Kvarøy Arctic’s sustainably raised salmon makes it easy to grill or pan-fry the burgers and dogs with a result that is both juicy and perfectly browned. They are now available for direct overnight delivery to homes across the United States starting on August 24, 2020.
These burgers and dogs are not just delicious but serve a purpose.
They are the solution to preventing food waste while also offering an exciting new way to enjoy salmon at home. We are utilizing the trimmings and off-cuts from our salmon production to make these burgers and dogs. They are non-GMO, Gluten Free, and can be stored in the freezer for up to one year. Simply thaw and they are ready to grill, broil or pan fry! They have a full weekly recommended allowance of Omega’3’s in one serving! We encourage you to treat them exactly as you would a traditional burger or dog. Brush with a small amount of oil and cook over medium high heat until browned. Close your eyes and take a bite! The snap of the hot dog along with the thoughtful blend of spices, will leave even the kids in the family sure that it was a traditional hot dog!
